Colin Harper
On 14th January 2007 at Morning Service, we welcomed Colin for
the first time as the new Organist at St Chad's Church, Pattingham.
Colin's musical training began at the London College of Music
under the Directorship of Dr. William Lloyd Webber. He graduated
in 1984, having studied piano, singing, organ and percussion.
Over the periods of 1984 to 1987 and 1990 to 1993, Colin was
Headteacher at three Music Schools in Iceland. Whilst in this
post, Colin also became the Parish Organist. Due to these postings,
he is fluent in Icelandic.
Colin has gained further teaching experience in Scotland and
England, introducing the finer points of music to all age groups
right up to University level. If you need lessons to improve
your piano, music theory or singing, Colin is the man to contact,
as he teaches these subjects privately.
He has performed music professionally in London at the Royal
Festival Hall, Central Hall Westminster, and various churches
around the country in Glasgow, Liverpool, Sheffield, Coventry
and also several locations in Iceland.
He is married
and lives with his wife, Sharon, in Codsall. He is at present
studying Reflexology and will soon become a fully qualified practitioner,
when he is installed as a Member of the British Reflexology Association
in May 2007.
His interests include walking, cooking, playing squash and travelling.
He is a member of Menza.
Welcome to
St Chads, Colin...
