BUILDINGS
A self-catering
residential centre set in beautiful countryside in the
village of Burnhill Green, near Pattingham on the Staffordshire/Shropshire
Border.
Once used for the wintering of sheep, the original buildings
have been well adapted to provide recreational and sleeping accommodation
for the maximum of 22 people. It is designed to be used by children's
and young people's groups for residential weekends. Midweek and
daily bookings may also be arranged.

The following information
will help you make the most of your stay at Shepherds Buildings.
PLEASE READ IT VERY CAREFULLY.
Shepherds
Buildings is an L-shaped single-storey building and comprises:
A well-equipped kitchen with
cooker, grill and fridge/freezer Lounge/dining room
Recreation/craft room
Four bedrooms (two with eight
beds, one with four beds and one with two beds)
Two washrooms with showers, wash-basins,
toilets and a disabled persons' facility
Grassed area (suitable for games)
with barbecue
Parking for 6 vehicles

We provide...
A pillow and a blanket on each bed
A comprehensive range of crockery, cutlery, cooking equipment
and utensils
Vacuum cleaner and cleaning materials
Toilet rolls
You
will need to bring with you...
Food and drink for the duration of your stay
Sleeping bags and pillow slips (during cold weather extra blankets
may be needed)
Tea towels and washing up liquid
Fuel for the barbecue if you plan to use it
First Aid Kit
Mobile Phone (nearest public telephone is in Burnhill Green village)
Heating...
The building is heated by infra-red wall mounted electric heaters
in all rooms.
Each set of heaters is operated by a wall switch near to the
heater.
Thee bedroom heaters and power sockets are on a time-switch which
is situated in the kitchen meter cupboard. This timer can be
over-ridden when necessary by pressing the red button on the
clock.
Water...
The water pressure in the building is low but adequate. Water
is metered so please take care not to leave taps running. Please
switch on the immersion heater on arrival.
Cleaning...
Groups are expected to leave Shepherds Buildings clean and tidy
so please allow time at the end of your stay to do this.
If the building is not left in an acceptable condition, groups
will be billed for the
cost of employing a cleaner.

FIRE EXTINGUISHERS are located:
1) By the main entrance door
2) By the entrance to the courtyard
3) In the kitchen
4) In a box on the outside wall, between bedrooms 2 and 3.
A FIRE BLANKET is in the kitchen,
next to the fire extinguisher
FIRE BELLS are situated:
1) By the main entrance
2) On the outside wall between bedroom 2 and 3.

There are large supermarkets in Wolverhampton, Perton and Telford.

is St Chad's, Pattingham.
The main Sunday service is at 10 am.

A PROGRAMME...
All groups using Shepherds Buildings are required to have adequate
leadership and it is essential that they have a planned programme
for their visit.
The Diocesan Youth and Children's Advisers are always willing
to help you plan your programme. If you require this service
please contact Paula Lloyd on 01543 306040 or email at paula.lloyd@lichfield.org.uk. (We have occasionally
had complaints from neighbours due to mischief caused by children
who were not adequately occupied. It is important that our good
relationship with our neighbours is maintained.)

GRAFFITI
SHEETS
Groups are encouraged to leave a sheet of paper on the wall saying
something about
themselves and their stay at Shepherds Buildings. SOME DO'S AND DONT'S...
Please do not enter the fields around Shepherds Buildings. Remember
that ALL FARM LAND IS PRIVATE PROPERTY.
Park in the bays provided and ensure that the farmer has access
to his land at all times.
DO NOT FEED
THE ANIMALS.
Unsuitable food can kill them. Don't scatter food for the birds
- it attracts rats!
Cooking fats
should be wrapped in newspaper and placed in the dustbin, not
poured down the drain.
Please do not
eat in the bedrooms.
If you have
changed over gas bottles, please let us know on the comment sheet.
SMOKING
AND ALCOHOLIC DRINKS ARE NOT ALLOWED ANYWHERE ON THE PREMISES.

HOW
TO FIND SHEPHERDS BUILDINGS...
FROM THE
M54
Leaving the M54 at Junction 3, follow signs for Albrighton, passing
RAF Cosford. Turn right into Albrighton immediately before Wyevale
Garden Centre. Continue on this road towards the centre of Albrighton
Village. At The Crown pub (on your left) turn right (signposted
Shifnal and Patshull Golf Course). Continue to a T junction.
Turn right onto A464 (signposted Shifnal). Take first turning
left (signposted Burnhill Green and Patshull Golf Course).
**Burnhill Green is two miles down this road. Snowdon Road
is on the right and leads to the centre of the village. The key
can be collected from No 38. Return to the main road (turning
right). Shepherds Buildings is the first low building on the
left hand side.
FROM WOLVERHAMPTON
Follow signs for the A41 to Newport and Whitchurch. At a Y junction
with a set of traffic lights, take A464 (signposted Shifnal).
Passing the Lea Manor pub (on your left) take the next turning
(signposted Burnhill Green and Patshull Golf Course). Follow
instructions above in bold from ** above.
