From: Belinda Riley

Hello
Just a note to say thank you for a lovely friendly well organised run on Sunday 14 October. It was the first time I had done this race and I really enjoyed running in such beautiful surroundings with excellent marshalls and support all the way round. I especially liked the tea and cake afterwards!!!

Well done to everyone who helped stage such a good event.

Thank you.

Great race today. Please thank all the organisers, marshals and helpers who made this race so enjoyable for all the runners.
There were some great touches which I thought were novel and have not seen at the other 150 races I have run todate:-

Car parking passes
Tea and Cake afterwards
Specially designed mile markers
Bells ringing at the finish
Film of previous races

Please advise when and where the results will be posted on the web.

Worth the 260 mile round trip from North Lincs.

Regards

HI there!!
I've just completed and thoroughly enjoyed the Bells race 2007. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their fantastic efforts to bring this superb race to runners like me . Superb organisation, brilliant marshalls and a great course all combine to make a superb event.

Thanks to everyone - especially like the tea and cakes!!

Mike Hawes.

Pattingham Bells Run takes place on Sunday 19th October 2008

The 19th Bells of Pattingham Run will take place on Sunday 19th October 2008, starting at 11.00 am from the Village Hall Playingfields.

The first run back in 1990, was organised to raise money to replace the old wooden bell frame in the belfry of St. Chad's church in Pattingham. Because of its popularity, the run has continued over the years and now is a respected event in the running world with typically 700-800 entries.

All proceeds from the race are now used for local charities, such as the County Air Ambulance, Air Training Corps, Playing Fields Committee, St Chad's School and also to help St. Chad's Church funds. All runners finishing receive a 'Bells Run 2006' brass and the first runner from the Parish of Pattingham with Patshull will be presented with a cup to be held for one year.

The design for the Bells Run brass is changed each year and they have become collector's pieces. The picture shows the design for this year's race.

The run starts and finishes in Pattingham in South Staffordshire over a 7 mile off-road, multi-terrain course, under UKA rules. Entry fees are £9.00 for UKA affiliated club runners and £11.00 for non-club runners. The closing date for advance entries is the 9th October. Entry on the day is permitted at a fee of £15.00 for all runners.
