Ness Tobin joins our
parish as a trainee vicar...
I am Ness Tobin and am joining
the parish of Pattingham as, I guess, a trainee vicar!
I am training for the ministry at the Queens Foundation, Birmingham,
and am on placement at St. Chads church, with Maureen Hobbs as
my supervisor.
I am really excited about it, and know Pattingham a bit through
the Drama group, of which I am a member. The last time I was up
front was as a calendar girl-this role will be a bit different!
Pattingham has such a lovely community, I am really looking forward
to getting to know everyone and learning about church from a
different tradition. And it will be the first time I have ever
wore a cassock!'
I am married to Ed and have an 8 year old daughter, Cara. We
live on the outskirts of Wolverhampton, Merry Hill.
I did a drama
degree 20 or so years ago, then did some drama exams and took
part in a youth drama project with Zip Theater, called Wolves
the Musical,' which was put on at the Grand Theater, Wolverhampton.
I then did no drama for another 20 years! but then wrote and
directed 2 pantomimes for church. I enjoyed it so much I decided
to get into drama again, so came to Pattingham to see 'A May
Dream.' I then auditioned for Chris, in 'Calender Girls' and
it all went from there.
At the moment,
though, I am concentrating on ordinand training, which is taking
all my time. I am at Queens Foundation college in Birmingham,
which is a great place.
